🧠 1. The Poodle can "outsmart" you

• Poodles are among the most intelligent dogs and are extremely easy to train
• They understand which behaviour earns them a reward
• And start using it strategically

Many people know that Poodles need trimming… but don't realise how serious this is.

• Their coat grows continuously and needs trimming every 4–6 weeks
• It mats easily and traps dirt
• This can lead to skin problems and discomfort

👉 This isn't "cosmetic" — it's essential care.

😬 3. They can become destructive… if they're bored

The Poodle isn't a dog that just "lies around".

• They have high energy levels and need activity
• They need both physical and mental stimulation
• If they get bored → they start destroying things, barking or causing problems

👉 Many owners get this wrong: a walk is NOT enough.

💡 The Poodle needs tasks, games and mental challenges, not just exercise.

You'll often hear that Poodles are "perfect for allergies".

• They shed less hair and dander
• So they're often better tolerated by people with allergies
• But there's no such thing as a fully hypoallergenic dog

⏳ 5. They'll be with you for much longer than you expect

Poodles are among the longer-lived breeds:

• They live for around 10–18 years
• The smaller varieties often live even longer

👉 That's a serious commitment.

💡 You're not getting a dog for "a few years" — you're getting a companion for a decade or more.
