Mastering basic training commands for dogs – part 3

Is your dog already comfortable with the "sit" and "stay" commands? Time for the next one - "down"!

While your dog is standing, slowly lower a treat to the floor – they'll follow it down into a lying position. Once they're easily following the treat down, start saying the word "down" right as they lie down.

Try giving your dog treats while they're lying down. Over time, this will increase the amount of time they spend in that position.
