1. Dalmatian
Dalmatians are one of the most affectionate dog breeds. They shouldn't be left alone for more than two hours. If they suffer from separation anxiety, you'll know about it — they'll destroy anything they can get their teeth into.

2. Chihuahua
This engaged, lively little dog is a favourite pet that owners often treat more like a child than a dog. The breed is extremely attached to their owners, but if they're left alone for long periods, their anxiety can turn into aggression.

3. Border Collie
The Border Collie is one of the most active dog breeds — bred to be out with their owner while herding sheep. Their high energy levels and intelligence mean they need a huge amount of stimulation, and regularly going without company will lead to separation anxiety very quickly.

The Bichon Frise was bred to be the perfect lapdog, which means they can feel anxious and abandoned if there isn't a lap for them to curl up on all the time. Separation anxiety can be a very real problem with this charming, fluffy breed.
